Ok so here goes hopefully a slightly shorter update than the last few!

So we spent one night at surf camp where mak and I had a 'room' to ourselves alothough the room was actually a shipping contain type thing that had been made into a room with a kitchen sink and stove, 2 bunk beds and a bathroom which had a shower curtain for a door! but it was ok, just very cold in the night nearly as bad as camping in the us!!!
The next morning we were woken at 6am by some dude banging on our door and poked his head round the door and told us to get up! so we got up and got all our stuff together dumped our bags and went and had breakfast. Not to long after breakfast we met for our 7am surf lesson and started with a bit of theory before gettin into the lovely wet wetsuits :) didnt help that mine had a massive hole just below the zip so that was gonna b nice and warm when the water went rushing through it! we grabbed our boards and headed to the beach where we had our practical lesson then it was a hour and a half in the sea to catch some waves and hang ten! It was really fun tho the waves were a bit rubbishy but still managed to get lots of waves so i was happy as it was the first time i had surfed in just over a month!
Once we had showered we sat and looked at alll our photos then at 11 jumped on teh bus and headed for byron bay!

We arrived in byron just after 3 and made our way to our lovely new hostel which had opened like 6month ago :) it was really nice and clean and new and we had a round room which was kl. We investigated the beach and then went to the supermarket to stock up on some food as we had 7nights in byron :) There wasnt much to do in the eve as the shops all closed by 5.30 :( so we had an early night :)

In the week that we were in Byron we spent a bit of time each day on the beach which has result in me becoming ridicously brown! We've also been swimming in the sea and yesterday got attacked by fish as it was really calm and the sea was really clear. We also tried surfing but there is a massive rip/undertow and we ended up 50m from where we started and it was almost impossible to paddle out again once you had caught a wave in so we gave up on surfing there. One afternoon we went to ninbin, which is like a hippe community type thing, i think most people have heard of it. It was a very small place and really strange and we walked round the whole town in less than 20mins! but we did find a really cool candle factory 5mins down the road so we went there. There were so many pretty candles but unfortunately we didnt think that we would be able to get them home in one piece so we didnt buy any, but just took lots of pics instead!!!

Another day we got the bus to Lennox Head which is a very small town/village about 30mins south of Byron. It was really lovely and very relaxed and not touristy at all :D I hire a surfboard for the day and had a little surf there which was nice but it was quite rocky so a little scary when u got wiped out!

Saturday was Mak's birthday :D the night before we went out with our room mates to 'Cheeky Monkeys' which was a really strange club as there was no dance floor, people danced on the tables instead! So we did a little bit of dancing on tables and then headed back just before midnight. On Sat we had the day at the beach and then in the afternoon walked to the light house (this is the pic for this entry) which was a 6km wlk (round trip). We got there to see the sunset which was cool and then walked the last part back along on the beach before it got 2 dark. In the evening we went out to this little cafe we had found that did really nice pudding and we had a brownie and caramel slice between us, but they were sooooo rich we couldnt finish them!

Today we left Byron and are now at Surfers Paradise. We are here for 2nights :) although it is ment to rain 2moro which will b pooey as we hav had beautiful weather so far :)

Well I shall leave it at that otherwise it will become a mammouth entry again! But I am now up to date so hopefully this is the end of mammouth entries and they will shorted but more regular!!!
