Yeah, I'm still alive after all my meetings with poisenous snakes, spiders and crocs. Just didn't have the time (or money) to update my blog. Last time I wrote was in Brisbane and I've seen and done so much since then. Unfortuntely I cannot get my camera connected here so the pictures have to wait again, sorry!
In Noosa I went to the National Park and spotted a wild koala. I didn't see much of Hervey Bay, but Fraser Island was awesome! I even boarded a little plane on the beach and flew over the island and the ocean; saw two giant sea turtles on the way. Taking off and landing on the tropical beach of Fraser was wonderful! From Hervey I went to Rockhampton, where you'll mainly find lots of cowboys.
In Airlie Beach I had a great BBQ at the lagoon with a friend from Fiji. He and his friends now travel around in a car all the way trough Australia. They sleep in it as well! Of course I also went to the Withsundays from Airlie where I did some snorkelling. We also walked on Withsunday Island but we were eaten alive by the Godzilla flies around there. Sort of ruined the whole walk.
Next Island stop was Magnetic Island. Didn't hold the koala and I ask you all not to do so if you ever come to Australia. To me it was just horrible how the animal was tossed around just for people to take a nice picture home. The rangers of course were there to make sure it cost minimal distress to the koala, but I still think it didn't do any good to the animal. Koala's need a lot of sleep as there is only minimal nutrition in the leaves they eat and going from one person to the next wakes them up. I did get a good hold of a croc instead.
Stayed one night in Townsville and got a good look at the reef there in the aquarium. Arrived in Cairns on Friday and ran into some old friends again. Yesterday I went to the Daintree Rainforest at Cape Tribulation; one of the oldest forests in the world. There are a thousand year old trees there! Saw the larger brother of the croc from Maggie as well: Scooter just under 5 meters. Today I chilled out at the people and then did the second part of my tour to Port Douglas where I'm now. They have a really nice supermarket here. It's the small things that matter when you're travelling for 2 months, haha!
Hope you're all doing well!

Jouw avonturen klinken beter! Cape Tribulation was prachtig inderdaad, heel gaaf! Nog twee weken om te genieten voordat je weet terugkomt in het nu regenachtige Amsterdam.. liefs
