O Canada!
Back home already, but I still need to tell y'all about my last adventures in the Rocky Mountains. I arrived in Vancouver a bit sick so I mostly chilled out and got used to the fall the first few days in Van. It all felt a bit strange that the leaves were all red and yellow and I needed to wear my winterjacket again. In Cairns I had spent my last days in the tropical rainforest of the Daintree.
On Saturday I started my Moose tour towards Alberta were I would face winter! Our first stop was lake Suswap where we chilled out in the hot tub. On Sunday we had another long drive into Alberta and the Rocky Mountains. Well, that's something else compared to the European Alps! We only had a night stop in Banff and drove north to Jasper on Monday. I think this is one of the most spectacular highways in the world, especially this time of the year. We came across some elk and even saw wolfs.
Our seconds time in Banff we had a bit more time which I used to warm up in the spa. We had been walking through half a meter of snow on the way over and my feet had nearly frozen off. I got myself scrubbed with apricot and was then wrapped up in cocoa butter. I felt like I was an oversized Puccini bombon! Ofcourse the stop in Banff also included shopping so I maxed my cc again. Very happy with my new snow boots though :)
Last stop on the tour was Kelowna where we did some more wine tasting (at the winery and later at the hostel). Then it was time to go back to rainy Vancouver again for one last day of chilling out. Stocked up on Maple syrup and was all ready to go on Sunday. Now totally jetlagged but dreaming over sweet memories and future destinations ;)
