Monday 27 November
All too soon our holiday was coming to an end and it was time to leave Paris.
Flying business class, Cathay Pacific, was a good choice, perhaps we both agree, Emirates's planes and service is a notch better, however, we didn't go via Dubai and that was my choice.
We lost the day we gained coming over, flying to Hong Kong so it was Tuesday 28th when we landed.
We left Paris at 12:25pm and our first meal was lunch, our next would be breakfast.
To aid our "sleep mode", the cabin was dimmed and all window shades we closed. Many took advantage and quickly seats became beds.
I didn't sleep as much as I would have like, it did 2hour stint and perhaps another however in the sitting up position rather than bed position. Phillip was seated in front of me and he only had spasmodic sleep also.
We arrived in Hong Kong 9am and our arranged driver was waiting in Arrivals so the drive to our hotel was comfortable and expedite.
Our chosen hotel was Novotel Hong Kong on Nathan Road, Kowloon. Another great choice.
Our room was ready as we had rebooked the night before to allow early access.
We showered and came down breakfast. A great diverse and great layout of food. There were many nationalities in the breakfast room. This must be a popular choice of hotel.
We only had one full day in Hong Kong so after breakfast we took a short "hot, humid" walk to gain sunlight. Back at the hotel we showered again and drew the blackout curtains and went to bed. I did wake during the night, really hungry at 12midnight however, my brain, said go back to sleep and I did.
We had set out alarm for 6am having had more than 12 hours sleep.
Wednesday 29 November
We had early breakfast then waited until 10am when we took a taxi to a valued tailor, recommended by our concierge. Phillip needed to have some clergy shirts made and a new alb. Our tailor was very obliging and we had brought sample of each to leave with them.
The cost seemed reasonable and he promised delivery within three weeks, so before Christmas they should arrive…..and they did.
After the visit to the tailor, the owner suggested a typical good Chinese restaurant nearby. It was only a walk from their office, in the Hyatt Hotel on 4th floor. It was fantastic. Many Chinese people and a table of six ladies, obviously out for lunch, evidence that food was good.
It was great, best Chinese we have ever had.
Thursday 30 November
Today we will fly home.
