Rebecca & Suellen's Asian Adventure
Hi everyone,
Well, we've arrived safely and are starting to settle in to our home for the next three months! The guesthouse is good and we've got a nice room and a rooftop terrace where we can eat breakfast in the sunshine.
We're right in the thick of things with everything we need within walking distance - internet cafes, shops, photo processing, restaurants and bars.
Went out with the whole group for dinner and drinks last night, we're actually quite old compared to the group already here who are mostly 18-19 and on gap years. We feel a bit like Auntie Suellen and Rebecca.
We're going to a yoga class today, the first of many, so we'll be super flexible when we get home.
Planning a white water rafting trip next weekend, camping overnight, which should be good fun. We can't do any trips this weekend because there's a Maoist strike and not much traffic can get in and out of Kathmandu.
Email is unbearably slow, it takes nearly 10 minutes to get in and check them so bear with us if we take a while to reply. Telephone lines also have a great delay on them.
We've managed to avoid lentil overload so far, but there's always time. Luckily, there are quite few shops selling cakes and chocolate to keep us going and alcohol is pretty cheap so we'll be able to budget for that (we were on the vodka, orange, pineapple and mango juice last night).
Keep in touch,
Suellen and Rebecca
