Blog day 1: Berlin

This is the third $%^$$*^$$#&^$^%g attempt at getting this f&^%%&^g up on the the blogging site.... chilling... but as the second mentioned, it was considerably shorter than the first, and this one will be even shorter.

We are here, we had a nap, (not map, but thanks for the tip) we went places, had a good nights sleep and are off tomorrow .... more and better stuff to come

LOL: I just cautioned Rick about swearing on a family Blog, but after watching him type it out for the third time, can't say I blame him!
We arrived in Berlin about 10:30 am after a short flight from Frankfurt. The original plan was to take the bus and then a tram to the hotel, but as we were bleary eyed from the flight, the cost of a taxi looked attractive. The hotel is a very nice small boutique style with a newly renovated bathroom but the usual small European sized rooms. However the bed was very comfortable for a 2.5 hour nap. We then headed out on foot to explore. We are within a 15 min.s walk to a main plaza, the Alexanderplatz. Dinner was at a Bier Garten complete with Band including an accordion. Very German! We were in bed by 9:00 and slept (mostly) through until 8 this morning so felt much better today.
