It's time to move on to the next part of the trip as the nine nights I spent in New York have come to an end.
I surprised myself how quickly I adjusted to city life again after the laid back attitude of the California lifestyle.
New York is an amazing place. To sum it up, it's like London but bigger, better and friendlier. It helps to settle in to a place when you already have so many friends out here. A big thank you to everyone, especially Jason, Sarah, Cameron, Jill & Lena for being fantastic hosts and tour guides.
New York is well known for the city that never sleeps and it certainly lives up to it's expectation. While the past week has been a bit of a blur, slowly but surely, I did manage to fit in the tourist spots that were on my must see list.
I chilled out in Central park, saw the dazzling lights of times square at night, walked the Brooklyn Bridge and took a ferry past the Statue of Liberty (pictured).
These sights were spectacular, and free of charge which as a budget traveller, counts for a lot. Especially when it's the nightlife that soaks up your dollar.
The week has been action packed socially;
Monday: Dinner at Sarah & Camerons in Wall St
Tuesday: complimentary drinks at the Bryant Park Hotel
Wednesday: cheese and wine party at Jason's
Thursday: Complimentary drinks and Fashion show.
Friday: drinks at the Mad Hatter (Jason's local)
Saturday: night out at Lower East Side
Sunday: brunch curtousy of Ali, wine in the afternoon then Dinner at Sarah & Camerons.
What a week it has been, I could be forgiven for wanting a break after the madness of New York. However, something tells me I won't be allowed a break as I prepare to meet the parents in Nashville. Therefore it's time to dust myself off and let the good times roll, AGAIN!
