The final 24 hours in Las Vegas was just as action packed as the first.
Unfortunately I didn't have the luck of the first day. I didn't win my million dollars on the slot machine, and the $50 poker tournament wasn't very successful either.
Either way I managed to leave Vegas with more money than I came with which not many people can say that.
Just before I set on my way to visit my family in Auburn near Sacramento, I had the small matter of a helicopter ride over the grand canyon (pictured).
To see the grand canyon is a must in my opinion and doing it in style is the way to go! I was picked up by a limousine from my hotel. Chauffeured to Las Vegas Airport where the rest of the helicopter tour congregated. I opted to pay an extra $50 to take the front seat and this in my opinion was money well spent as I managed to capture many amazing pictures.
Little did I know that the helicopter ride would involve similar motions to that of being on a boat, and after a night on the Vegas strip, it might have been an idea to take my motion sickness tablets. Fortunately I managed to soldier through, unlike some passengers on the back seats!
We flew over the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. This is what services Las Vegas with its water supplies. Then came the grand canyon itself. Words can't express how scenic this place is. Pictures help, but don't do it much justice.
After being dropped off at the hotel (once again by limousine) it was time to hit the road north to visit my family. Only a 9hour drive!
It was time to say adios to Las Vegas, I'm sure our paths will cross again.
