First report of 2009 and I'm now in Malaysia, having spent 10 days or so in Singapore.

I met up with the group I will be touring with for the next couple of weeks on Sunday night. joining me are 2 British guys, 8 from Australia and 1 kiwi. If the past 2 nights are anything to go by there's going to be tonnes of laughs enjoyed by all.

Time in Singapore was really enjoyable. Instead of staying in hotels in india, I was in hostels and so had more opportunity to meet people. Spent a number of days with 3 Australians that I met, celebrating New Year on the docklands watching the fireworks, visiting the Singapore toy museum (child I know!) and sampling Singapore nightlife (plus the after effects). It was really good to be sharing time with people and I've made some good friends to visit down under.

I'm now in Kuala Lumpur. We travelled into Malaysia by bus yesterday, to a town called Melaka, for the night, before arriving here this morning. This afternoon has been a bus ride round the city to see some of the sites, while tomorrow I plan to go to the Petronas twin towers as well as some of the other attractions advised by our group leader. The tour is 3 weeks long so again an opportunity to make some good friends. Watch this space - photo's from Singapore to follow...
