Cass's Gap Year
It's been a while since I posted a journal entry and some photos, so I thought that I would put something up about Sydney. Although I have lived here for almost a year, I have only shown you all a few pictures. So there's two album's dedicated to Sydney. One is of the Opera House and Harbor Bridge from around Circular Key and the bridge itself. The other is the view from the Center Point Tower, which is the famous tall pin like building that dominates the view of Sydney's skyline. I haven't named most of the photos mainly due to time. You should be able to work them all out, but if not just post a question on the site's message board. I was actually fortunate enough to climb the Harbor Bridge a few weeks ago, which was magnificent. I went with Pete Browning and his son Scotty who where kind enough to invite me along with them. It took almost three hours in total and you have to wear a jump suit and everything is fastened onto you, including your hanky. You even get breathalized before you are kitted out with your harness and raincoats! The only thing you can take up the bridge with you is you're glasses, and nothing else due to insurance purposes. Thus you can't bring a camera with you. It's a bit annoying but I can understand why. A camera falling from the top down onto the traffic could cause a hell-of-a lot of damage. They take pictures for you though, and a group shot is included in the price. So for this reason I don't have any pictures of the climb itself. I fully recommend any visitor to Sydney to do the Bridge climb, and it is well worth the money.
The other album is of the England Vs Australia rugby match I went to. You may of seen me on TV if you where watching the game on Sky or Foxtel. I had a flurry of text messages from friends across Sydney and even the world just after my big performance. I am glad that I didn't do anything stupid as lots and lots of kids from Pittwater House saw me as well!! The result was a bit of a bummer, but I was really just there for the atmosphere. The second test actually kicks off in just over an hour at the time of writing this, so I hope the result is a little better this time round!
I hope you enjoy the new photos (you can tell the Sydney photos where taken a while back as my hair is a lot shorter!), and I will post a few more interesting things in the next week.
