Steve & Anne Not in a Van
Hello
Hanging out in new plymouth recovering from hangovers induced by drinking the night away with them Lions fans. Caught up with the tour here and managed to get some tickets for the game. Interesting experience to sit on a grassy knoll on a black bin bag with a 4 pack between our feet watching international sport. Game was good though and the fans pretty much took over the down and it would have been rude not to join in!! Dissappointed not to catch up with any of the players, think Gavin Henson might have been in the tanning salon all evening. Don't think we can afford to keep up with the tour from now. Will be keenly watching the tv instead!! Off to Wellington today. Since Roturua we went down to Lake Taupo where we did a tandem skydive which was amazing. Good thing i was strapped to someone cos once the door opened at 12, 000ft i was scared witless and not so keen for the whole leaping out thing. Fortunately i didn't have much of a choice. Totally glad though because the freefall was like nothing else. Steve had the pleasure of being first out and so got to dangle his feet for 5 minutes whilst the fear mounted! I'm not sure who was more scared when he suddenly disappeared from beside me. Watched the first Lions game in Napier where we the contrived to leave all our passports and tickets behind in the hostel!! So ensued a 300k round trip to retrieve them. Numptys. Went Blackwater rafting in a place called Wiatomo. Essentially involved caving and sliding down an underground river on inflatable tubes. Oh and a glow worm fest on the roof which was pretty amazing. It is off course New Zealand winter and getting into a cold wet wetsuit was probably the most hardcore part of the trip. Numb hands and feet took a long time to recover. So thats pretty much what we have been doing. Hope all well at home. Keep the messages coming.
