So here it is, 2 weeks remaining before I leave the comfort of the UK and set wings for Australia. I thought I'd write a 'before I go' blog entry to get things kicked off and so that people know I'll be keeping this blog on my travels!

2 weeks. 14 days. 336 hours. 20,160 Minutes. 1,209,600 Seconds. (As of 12/06/12 at 12:00) It really is crazy when I think of it like that. 22 years I've lived here and all I have left is 2 little weeks. The thing that hits me, looking at that little map down there; is that I know this area so well. It is, as I said up there; comfortable. I genuinely believe that if you always do what you've always done, you'll only ever get what you've ever had. For me, this is my chance to have something I've never had. Completely cut loose and experience the spontaneity of travelling without any plans. For those of you that know me, this is a massive deal, but I think it'll be good for me. On that note, those of you that know me well... I can't really express how much I'm gunna miss you guys. It's going to be so weird not being woken up with drunken phone calls from Plymouth or Cardiff. But instead; skyping you at 6pm GMT when It's 3am in Sydney. I'm not looking forward to the strange looks I get when I extend my arm in a downward motion whilst slowly clicking my fingers shouting 'DAAAAAWLAAAAAAW'. I'm really not looking forward to that. What I AM looking forward to, guys, is Oceanfest (if the weather improves) and my leaving do next weekend! It's gunna be a lovely end to my time in the UK. But in the interest of not making this a mushy blog, I'm going to move on...

Well, as I've said in every paragraph so far; 2 weeks! Not that I've started packing, but I'd say I'm pretty much ready to go. Flights, Visa, OzIntro, Travel Insurance - all paid for. Although saying that, this isn't news. That was all done a couple of months ago! The most recent thing to get excited about is getting the full list of everyone on the OzIntro week! They all seem pretty cool, so it should be an awesome week, and an awesome start to the 12 months.

So, that's all I'm going to write for now, partially because I don't want to bore anyone about stuff that hasn't happened yet, and partially because I'm a tad hungover. Guess I better get used to writing travel blogs in a weary state! Ooo, I better take a picture for this too... Done! Appropriate for the final 'before I go' blog I think. The place I grew up and the place I called home for most of the last 22 years. So, let the countdown begin: One man, One fortnight to go!
