Stephen's Travels
Dear All
I have arrived safely in Hong Kong, It's been nice and Sunny today and the weather is alot warmer than England. It's a very fast paced city, there are people every where. I'm Staying in a Youth Hostel on the Golden Mile, named by the number of Neon advertising lights and Billiard borards. I've already lost count of the number of times I've been offered fake watches or my own custom made 'geniue' armani Suit.
It was a long flight here and I only managed a few hours sleep, I was releived to find the hostel with out too much difficulty, and also came across a supermarket for a few essentials like bread and beer. 8-)
I've been upto the Victoria Peak on a funicular railway, cracking veiw of the city, also meet some British ex-pats who had been in Hong kong during the British Rule, they say it has changed considerably since. They pointed out the old airport run way which is now situated on an island outside of the city. (appartently pilots had to dodge the sky scrapers on the old run way....).
Meet a French lassie from the Hostel and we both watched a fantastic light show with a from Kowloon Island of the Hong Kong Skyline, It happens each day at eight o'clock, I have taken some pictures but they don't do it.
Also saw the Big Bronze Budda Temple on Lantau Island, and climbed Lantau Peak 934m above sea level. Meet Colin who crititicied me for eaching spagetti and not sampling Chicken legs. So He was kind enough to take me to eat noodles and meat balls.
Also saw Stanley Beach on the southern tip of Hong Kong Island meet a british couple and had a wander through stanley market.
Next stop Thailand Bangkok
Hope All's well back home.
Cheers
Stephen
