We've been on safari for the last three days in the Masai Mara at certain points we didn't think we were gonna make it as the roads in leading in and out of the Masai area are ridiculous, we were even driving at the side of the road as it was less bumpy. Anyway, we've seen Lions, Impalas, Elephants, Cheetahs, Wildebeast, Zebra, Buffalo, Hippo, Crocodile, Giraffe, Thompsons Gazelle, Vulchers, Hyenas and loads of other animals that I either can't remember or don't know the names of!!
We've been really lucky to see what we've seen - we even managed to see a Cheetah chase a wildebeast and kill it! That was on the first day safari. We still have yet to see Rhino and Leopard, but will hopefully see them in the Serengetti.
The first campsite was good, with pre erected tents with own toilets and showers - we were there for a couple of nights which has turned out to be pure luxury to what we had yesterday and probably for the next six weeks. We were in a drenched tent and it was pissing it down - my bag is soaked and so are nearly all the contents including my underwear - still - I have got a travel partner!
From what I've seen Kenya is a really nice place and the people are really friendly. The Masai people are just intrigued more than anything else and are always trying to sell us their carvings and the hand made jewellery! Me and Alex are well kitted out!
