Well I've just arrived back from my 400km charity cycle ride in Beijing. The smog was unbelievable, but once you could get to see through it to take in the landscape - it really was something else! We started off cycling in the industrial part of Beijing and through the rural villages where the locals would set up a make shift market stall at the side of the road selling fruit and corn. Everyone was looking at us, though we were all wearing multi-coloured lycra!
The Great Wall was amazing! difficult to put in to words really, and the city centre of Beijing was just is just constantly growing with sky scrapers going up all the time. Oh, and I had a chinese foot massage! well nice! Overall, we raised over £75,000 for REGAIN (raising funds for British men and women who have become paralysed as a result of sporting accidents) it really was a great challenge cycling through valleys and up mountains, but we did it!
