Gaborone (pronounced hab-o-ro-nay) is the capital of Botswana, and it doesn't feel as much like an African city, it's much more developed (that's what diamonds will do for you). To be honest there's not much to say about Gabs, I'm only really including it to keep my map right - the only other thing I would say to any perspective visitors is it is really really expensive. My accommodation cost about 3 times as much as my previous most expensive accommodation - there is one hostel outside the city - but a taxi to it was going to cost me 100 pula (~£10) and as I was only staying one night and had to come back to the city early the next morning it would have worked out almost as expensive and much more inconvenient! Moral of the story - if you're on a budget avoid the cities in Botswana!
