Had wonderful long sleep last night so feeling refreshed today. Packed our little bags and went walking around the beautiful town of Salzburg. Checked out all the latest fashions in Lederhosen and talked Stephen out of buying some as wouldn't get a lot of wear in Perth. I managed to buy a pair of good walking shoes albeit at the wrong end of the trip. Stephen managed to fit in a strudel and we saw all things to do with Mozart. Left around 2pm and headed for Munc...

Packed up and left by 10am and what a change in the weather. It's raining and about 18 degrees but no complaints yet. Headed for Salzburg avoiding the toll roads as didn't buy the sticker. The GPS had it as 233 km and that it would take 5 hours the first 2 hours proved this as started off a very slow drive as we were constantly going through towns so speed limit is 50km/hr. Not feeling overly refreshed as a terrible sleep was had due to heat and noise of the railway if we opened the windows. Anyway slightly cooler today so a bit more comfortable. Caught the tram to Schonbrunn Palace and walked around the gardens, which are very spectacular and huge. Next we tried the UBahn and then tram again to the Naschmarkt. I'm glad I don't do my shopping there as would come home with with millions of cheesy snacks as they were magnificent. Walk...

The Halls eventually arrived and we managed a few drinks last night as mentioned yesterday, after me drinking all afternoon I couldn't hang in for a final beer so Kaz and I headed off to bed while Steve and Sylv managed to sneak a final ale in. It was great to catch up with them and we managed to share stories and experiences. We spent a couple of hours this morning in a local cafe over breakfast having a good natter. A very slow morning due to the heat and overindulgence last night. Went next door to the cafe for breakfast and feeling human again. Caught the trolley bus up to the castle and as usual a fantastic view. This time overlooking Hungary and Austria. Amazing sight towards Austria with a huge wind farm in the distance.
