To ease us gentley into a days walking we decided to visit Scenic World. Upon buying the Scenic Pass we were ushered on to the railway - which just happens to be the steepest in the world, degrees I think !!! We weren't even strapped in and got sat at the front. It was very steep but also quite short. At the bottom we did the boardwalk which decribed the mining activity in that area. Then it was back to the top on the cableway before taking the skyway (see picture) over to the other side to start our walk. The skyway was quite amusing as the centre of the car is made of glass. The good part is that it is opaque when you start and goes clear only when you go over the edge, it is quite a view down. The walk was plesant and uneventful until we reached the 'Giant Staircase' at which Jo was not to pleased at having to stagger up, luckily there were plenty of seats to rest on to take in the magnificent views. Having reached the top we took the skyway back to the car. I think this was a great way to work off the xmas dinner !!!
