ok! so, about the last blog: its a looooong story, but i will cut right down to the basics. this is how it all went down:
Part 1, London and Ms. Harrison:
From edinburgh, i had no idea where i was going. kinda scary, but really cool in the im living on the edge sort of way. (also, excuse the typing; im using a dutch keyboard and i have absolutely no idea how to work this thing) SO, anyways, i was on the train from edinburgh back to london, because that is where my return tic was to. so, i get off the train in london, tempted to follow an old couple or a family home or something when it sort of clicked. i ran for the nearest internet cafe and within 10 minutes i was calling my friend from new york, (dionnes) mom who lives in london. she was my gaurdian angel. after a crazy double decker bus ride , with my double decker sized backpack swirling in every which way, arriving at ms. denise harrisons quaint little english home stocked with teas and Mcvitties biscuits was like heaven on earth.
thank you for taking care of me ms. harrison!
Part 2, The mystery coach to Brussels and the Irish saint:
I call it the mystery coach for two reasons:
reason 1 being that i had no idea where iwas going in brussels or even why for that matter! i only knew that i had to get to brugge somehow to meet up with two of my backpacking friends
and reason 2, ok get this. so a coach in america we think a coach like a train coach right? or at least thats what i thought, HA! nope, a coach as i came to find out in the UK is deffinately a BUS, yes a bus, allllllll the way from london to brussels. it was the coolest thing though, when we came to dover to cross the chanel, our bus sort of went in to this train for buses and cars and then the train went through the chanel tunel with all these cars and buses!!!! it was crazy!
so, back to my story, after sayin goodbye to mark and denise harrison, i hopped on my "coach" and headed for belgium. during the journey i made friends with a japanese girl named maiko, she was on her way to munich. so we talked and had a jolly old time, when suddenly, my coach was pulling in to brussels. time had flown by! it was dark and the streets looked dessolate. there were no chocolate factories and people running around town in their clogs. my sure fire plan of just "staying with the village people" was now deflating like a wrinkled balloon. i clung to maiko and whispered that i might run off with her to munich. she lokked worried (i think i scared her)
TIME OUT, i have to go get some waffles with my friends, but stay tuned, i will be back with the rest of the story!!!!!!
