Hello Had a good flight to Cairns on friday which only took 1hr 30min instead of 2hrs which was pleasing. We were expecting Cairns to be in a right state after the cyclone but it isn't. All that you can see damage wise is a few trees that have been uprooted! The few of us that stayed on the tour together from the last group went out for pizza before having a early night. Saturday was a relaxing morning before meeting the rest of our group at lunch, there is 26 of us altogether! We all then travelled up to Karunda a little village where you could look at the markets or go into the koala village. There was crocs, snakes, wallabies, wombats and of course koala's in there. You could pay extra to hold a koala and have your picture taken with it and we did, see the photo's - but we do have professional ones done which are awesome! Went back for tea then into town to visit the night market - these were very tacky with lots of souvenir shops. Sunday morning arrived and it was the trip to The Great Barrier Reef yay! We went down to the docks where we got on a massive catamaran that held around 90 people. It was a 2 hour boat ride out to the reef where we was going to stop, a place called Michaelmans Cay. On went the snorkelling gear and off we went. It was fantastic, it was so clear. We saw allsorts of colourful fish and coral. After this we went on a glass bottom boat which showed us what all the coral and fish were and we saw NEMO, well 5 of them lol. We had lunch on the boat and then we went across to the island and laid there in the sun for about an hour. Steph has been burnt in patches again lol! We sailed back with the sails and had tea before having a few drinks around the pool. Today we have a full free day so we had a lay-in until 8.30 because we didn't want to miss our free breakfast lol. We are planning on relaxing by the pool all afternoon before we go out for our tea with the group tonight! Check out the one picture from oz land so far because this computer is s***e, supposed to be the fastest in Cairns and it took 10 minutes for one picture to get put on.
