After an emotional goodbye to mum, dad and rob we managed to get through security pretty quick and hassle free and went straight for breakfast! The first flight from Manchester to Abu Dhabi was 7 hours and as we boarded the plane and scrambled to our seats we realised that even though we were the first people to book seats on this flight 12 months ago I had managed to pick the only aisle on the plane without a window so the whole journey was pretty dull and dark! things only got worse when a 30 stone man had booked the seat next to me, taking up both arm wrests and leaving me with next to no room to move! Jake then tries to put my pug neck pillow on the pull down tray (when we all know these NEVER get cleaned) and as I screamed in horror and tried to save it, I knocked jakes beer all over him, the tray and the pillow!! hahahaha (jake was fuming) so I let him watch the football (Tottenham vs Huddersfield!) in peace while I tried to get some sleep!

We landed in Abu Dhabi and headed straight to Burger King before heading to find our boarding gate - the A380 was the biggest plane we have ever seen and the 14 hour flight to Sydney went as good as it could of with me sleeping for 10 hours and jake enjoying the films in peace! We landed in Sydney at 7:30 pm and checked into the Sydney Stanford Plaza Hotel to get some much needed sleep before heading into the city tomorrow morning.... this is when I realised that a 10 hour sleep on the plane was probably not a good idea as it's 11pm now and I'm wide awake! Jake however timed his sleep to perfection so he would still be tired and get a good nights sleep tonight! We are up early tomorrow to head into Sydney and do some sightseeing!
