2nd April - 19th April 2012 - Trip to Israel
So a while ago I decided to join my parents, my sister and our other family friends (from Australia) on a trip to Israel for Pesach (jewish festival). The idea sounded great when I agreed to it, but I completely forgot to take into account the length of the journey!! Oh well; I am nearly back in Australia, just another 7 hours + in Bangkok airport before I can finally catch my last flight back to the land of Oz!
As my dad so kindly booked my flights, he decided to keep my appearance a surprise from my sister. It worked extremely well. I arrived a couple of days before they did. My sister's face was hilarious. She couldn't believe her darling sister was in Israel. She was sooo happy. Isn't she a sweetie. (Her words 'exactly' sort of)!!
We stayed the majority of the time in Netanya where we were renting a flat between 8 people. It was really nice and very close to the beach which is always a bonus. Yes everyone, I am 'black'er' than I was before I arrived in Israel. We also took tours to the north ( I don't remember all the places we went) but to name a few, Rosh Ha'Nikra and the caves,Haifa and the B'hi Gardens, Akko and the prison, Cesaria and the amphitheatre, the borders between Israel, Jordan and Syria, the Knerrett and I cant remember where else. We did these tours over a couple of days. I haven't been to a lot of these places since Israel tour 2005 so it was good to go back and remind myself what they look like!
I also went to Jerusalem to see a couple of my good friends who live there, plus more family. It's been nice to catch up with everyone. We also made a couple of trips to Tel Aviv to go to the beach, to see family and friends and go to the famous Carmel markets. I have a couple of new cheap purchases.
Anyway that's all from Israel. I'm slowly counting down the hours in Bangkok airport. I will update you again from Australia. I fly to Brisbane on Sunday to look for my farm work. If you don't hear from me, it's because I am probably trapped in the outback picking fruit or hopefully not, milking cows!!
