Sunday 22nd January 2012
I have finally made a decision to leave the most expensive city in Australia, some people would say it's a wise choice; but I am going to New Zealand on 29th January for 3 and a half weeks, then Fiji for a few days to spend more money! But this will be money worth spent as opposed to living in an expensive hostel, jobless!
During the past few weeks I attempted to look for a job which as you are aware has failed (as I am leaving). Myself and Holly have been entertaining ourselves with several shopping trips, low budget of course, been to the beach a few times, going out and seeing friends. We've also enjoyed face painting our friends, watching the thunder and lightning, talking about batman and listening to Disney songs!
When I made the decision to leave Sydney I decided to do all the tourist attractions; so far I have been to Hunter Valley which was a day trip out to the vineyards for wine tasting, cheese tasting, fudge tasting and we also took a trip to a wildlife park where we got to see kangeroos, koalas, emus and a snake! And I held a snake and touched a koala and a kangaroo :D It was very exciting…oh and also a gorgeous golden Labrador at one of the vineyards. By the end of the day we were pretty tipsy. We also went to a brewery but by that point we had given up with drinking and lay outside on the grass!
Me and Holly spent a lot of money to do the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb. At first we were slightly scared, Holly more so than me, but when we were up there it didn't feel that high at all, almost disappointing that I wasn't slightly scared! It was still a great day and good to say we have climbed the bridge. In the evening, we celebrated our victory and went on the Oz Party Bus which took us and our friends to 5 different bars around Sydney.
We are still yet to go to Taronga Zoo which will be the last tourist attraction I do in Sydney before I leave. It will be sad to leave Holly and the Wake Up Hostel, they have become my home and family for the past 2 months but I will see them again soon!
After New Zealand and Fiji I am hoping to still have enough money to travel up the east coast when I get back, so I can hopefully catch up Holly and some other friends I know and then be able to do my farm work after I am all travelled out!

sylvia Lucky you doing the Harbour Bridge climb. Simon & I were all kitted out and trained, ventured out onto the bridge support and then were told we had to wait for the electric storm to pass. An hour later - our climb (and that of many others) was aborted and we had a refund as our flight back to Israel was early next morning. Would love to try again but fear that time & age are against me!! Enjoy having a great time love
