We made it outside Santa Fe, New Mexico yesterday…another 500+ miles. Easy driving compared to the drive from DFW yesterday. We finally are on the road after a two day weather delay. ‘Headed West, young man’ 😁 No set destination or time constraints this trip, just West at least to Joshua Tree National Park and then we will see what is next. We finally stopped for the night outside Abilene, TX after a very long trip through DFW. Not only was the traffic horrible, as usual, but we drove right into a storm with a tornado warning. We thought we may make it out of Texas today but it didn’t happen. We are camped right on the river and neither of us even walked down to see it. That will have to wait until morning. Sandwiches and chips for supper and our first night in the ‘luxury suite on wheels’
