Someone told us about the earthquake / wave warning this morning so checked to see if you had put any messages on! Thank goodness you did! Although it was ok maybe thats why the waves were so big today?
It must be awful seeing all those things on the beach still and "they" say no-one over there needs any financial help! Anyway take good care of yourselves and keep up the good work!

Hi people.
Still in Phi Phi chilling out - although we have been doing voluntary work - I've been sifting through the sand to find rubbish and debris still left from the tsunami - found all sorts - clothes, toys, cd's,books - pretty sad really. Ga has been building bamboo walls in a hotel - and knocking walls down. Sounds fairly simple job but considering there's only one screwdriver and one drill - which only has one drill bit, on the entire island and not anything like a b&q it's turned into hard work!!

I went snorkelling this morning at Phi Phi Le with some other people we've met - but we came back after 2 hours as the waves were huge and we were in a little wooden tailboat - pretty scary stuff. But saw lots of pretty fishes first. Last time we were swimming in Railay beach at night we got stung by jellyfish - and that really stings!

My other news is I've had a tattoo done on the bottom of my back - photos to come soon - sorry Mum & Dad!! It was done with bamboo though not the normal machine thing - it's traditional out here - apparently it hurts less but I found it quite bad!

Have to admit I'm a little upset with you all - how come no-one let us know that the superstar Richard Whiteley died!?! Come on people keep us up to date!

We had a tsunami warning here last night, there was an earthquake fairly near to us in the scale of things - Phi Phi was between the earthquake and mainland Thailand so the closest. We were told to move to higher ground and that if it was going to happen it would hit us by 10.30pm. Alot of locals have left the island for a few days - suppose it just brings back too many bad memories. The guy who took us out on his boat this morning lost his mother, pregnant wife, home & business - how do you move on from that in 6 months??

We've got quite a few photos from here now so will put them on soon - the destruction is huge.

Nick, Sarah, Harrop & Mister Al - although you may be missing ga as a drinking buddy - believe me, I'm not sure I can take anymore!! He's still up to his tricks and mixing the drinks but now he drinks from a bucket with a straw instead of a glass, can or bottle!!

Deepak - you were missed in Phi Phi my friend - we had Pete but just needed you to make it the same again!! Where are you and your julies now?

Pete - how was the full moon party? Been pretty quiet here coz everyone went there but the buckets are still flowing with us. Were there any pigment problems over there!?!

Emily & Maggie Bump - hope the wedding went well - send pics NOW!!

Dad Hooper - I have found the best present for you ever - it's the latest Mozzie weapon - it's a small plastic tennis racket with those electrocuter things on - like you get in kitchens to kill the flies - you just wave it about and hear them all going 'buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz''. Being posted to you as soon as we get back to mainland!

Oh my god - that looks fantatstic and you both look like you are having the most wonderful time! Its friday afternoon and i am sat at my desk in Bath looking at your photos - very very jealous!! Oh well the world of Thomas & TFY must go on! I am sure you are missing RC2 and Exeter very much ... not! Sue says hi - shes off camping at the mo - hopefully she will find a nice fit surfer! I am off on holiday to Tuscany next week - only 6 sleeps to go so very excited - anyway look forward to keeping up with more of your adventures online.

Weather over here is really lovely but not as nice as PHi Phi i'm sure! i'm off on hols on fri for a few weeks but Cornwall doesn't really compare so won't go o about it! enjoy yourself and look after yourself!! Whoa...had a few mad nights in Koh Phangnan so not been able to function well for the last week. Pretty buzzing here so had a few days out and went up north to Bottle Beach to chill out. Off to Koh Phi Phi tomorrow morning at 6am - so definately early night....yeah right!!
