Ali & Ga's Travelling World
In Sydney for Christmas & New Year. Staying with Claire & Diarmuid, Tommy & some other people in their house. We met the 3 above in Darwin. Christmas Day was excellent, there were 12 of us for lunch - and although the turkey didn't defrost in time, Ga won us a leg of ham at the pub so we had that and then had the turkey the next day. Went down to Bondi Beach in the afternoon where we met so many other people we had met already travelling and also met up with Monks, crimbo & disco who were staying at their friends house just out of the city.
Think we had the best view ever on News Year Eve - in the botanical gardens opposite the opera house and harbour bridge. Got there at midday and it was pretty packed already - took a picnic and drink supply and mainly drank champagne all day whilst baking in the 40 degree sun! The fireworks went off at 9pm and then again at midnight - amazing, they were so big! There were fireworks coming off the bridge, the opera house and then off 6 different boats situated in the harbour - best new years ever I reckon! Also spent the night with Tom & Becs who we met on Phi Phi in Thailand so was great reminiscing with them again.
