After leaving Las Vegas we basically headed to San Diego which was very cool especially the zoo where I saw my first live Giant Panda - I could have sat there watching them all day!!!

After this came the low lights of the trip (with the exception of Santa Barbara which was cool) as we moved up the coast to San Francisco. In Los Angles experienced the crappy traffic and smog on entry. Went to Hollywood which was crowded with people swooning over the boardwalk of the stars. Crowds of swaming fans did not make this pleasant. One high note was finding a star in the sidewalk for the Munchkins!! From Hollywood we spent the afternoon at Santa Monica beach which I also was not enamored with and camped in the hills behind Malibu. Over the next couple of days we cruised up the coast to San Francisco stopping in Monterray for a night where attempted to have a bonfire on a cold and windy beach (I suppose this was OK as the weather so far had been brilliant). Sleeping out side I was woken up early by a bug that had taken shelter in my ear - it was unnerving to say the least, fortunately I managed to flush it out.
