On leaving rotorua we visited lady knox geiser, where the water sprayed out up to about 10 metres - a bit of a tourist thing really as the guy put soap into the whole to make it bubble. We then visited the geothermal pool - it absolutely smelt of sulphur, some amazng pools tho, the colours were fantastic. After leaving the goethermal area we headed for taupo - where the lake is the size of singapore - its huge. I just spent the afternoon wandering around taupo, while otehr were going daring activities such as bungy jumping and the speed boat across the river - i wasnt going to do anything adventurous like that this time!
In the evening a group of us wne tdown the pub - now thats a surprise, had a cheap dinner and ended up playing pool for half the night. It was guy falks - well someone was celebrating it, probably a pom, with fire works in the park, so we even got to see fire works on guy falks night. Apparently this is the last year that you can buy fireworks in new zealand, from next year you will only be able to see them at organised events.
I have already met some great people on this part of the journey - the problem is we are all getting off and doing our thing, but still having a good time. not much else to comment on except the scenary is amazing - hopefully when i get my photos sorted out they will show you how beautiful new zealand really is.
Bye for now, got to get ready to leave for wellington early tomorrow, its going to be along bus journey, with not much else happening.
