We arrived in L.A on Thursday evening after meeting companion number 4 - Mark - at the airport. We got to the hostel and had a few drinks in the lounge.

Friday we had a chilled out day doing boring jobs such as washing! That evening had a bbq in the hostel and then we went out on the pub crawl. Of course we had a few drinks before we went out, we are trying to save money!! We went to 2 bars in Hollywood before going to apparently one of the best clubs in L.A. I use apparently loosely as it was awful!! It was the club they filmed Knocked Up at which was quite cool but the music inside was not!! We didn't stay that long, we decided a better option would be to go back to the hostel and have a few more drinks there!

Saturday Carol and I did separate things. Me (Liz) Matt and Mark got the bus down to Venice beach (where they filmed baywatch) and had a lazy day on the beach. It was a beautiful beach and there was a lot of little market stalls and shops. We also tried a new game called Leet on the beach which was quite novel!

Carol on the other hand went for a walk to the Chinese Theatre and had a look at the hand and foot prints there before going to the cinema to see the new Narnia film. That evening Carol had an early night and me, Matt and mark just had a few drinks in the hostel again!

Sunday and Carol and I got up early for our trip to Universal Studios Hollywood. We had a lovely day and the weather was perfect. We started by going on the new Simpsons ride which was a simulator and was really good, Carol then went on the mummy ride- which I wouldn't go on until she has tested it 1st and it was too scry for me!! We then went on Jurassic Park ride and got absolutely soaked as we went through a waterfall at the end!! We went on the studio tour which was really interesting as we saw a lot of sets that were used in films and tv shows. We saw the hotel from Psycho, Jaws set, Wisteria Lane from Desperate Housewives, War of the Worlds plane crash scene and lots more. We also went round some special effects stages and saw a few shows including waterworld, terminator and shrek.

Monday and we are going to Fiji but not until 11.30pm! So we have checked out of the hostel and we have been shopping and we were going to go see the new film Wall E but round the cinema is really busy because the premiere of Hancock is on tonight so the film was sold out. We went on a tour round L.A instead which was good. We went up to the Hollywood sign, down Sunset Bvld where we saw some famous nightclubs including Jonny Depp's Viper rooms. We then went to Beverley Hills and Bel Air to see the famous mansions. We saw the Beckhams, the Ozbournes, Tom Cruises, Playboy Mansion, George Clooney, Brad Pitts and Jennifer Anistons old house and Britney Spears just to name a few. We then went to Rodeo Drive and had a look round the shops.

So thats it from North America, we have visited 3 countries, numerous cities and used nearly every public transport known!! We have had a blast and only a few hours to go before we fly to Fiji. So until then we send our love and will update when we arrive.
