Day 10 Rome Last day - boo hoo. We met our guide at the Pantheon at 9:00- very few people there-delightful and a flash chorus broke out. What a treat!! On to the Colleseum followed by the forum and after 4 hours we wrapped it up. Lunch and back to the shops. Day 9 Roma Slept in this morning- everyone ,including me , needed that. Breakfast on our roof top and then shopping. Nothing like shopping to perk up the group!! Day 8 Rome Early departure on the train to Rome. The train is such a nice way to travel- although we were a little late, a protest held us up and because of construction our taxi dropped us 3 blocks from our hotel. My patience was tested and the girls were starving. After a minor fall apart we regrouped and met our guide at the Varican only 20 minutes late. He kindly took us to the cafeteria first thing. Day 7 Siena Left Florence this morning , caught the train to Siena and arrived at our hotel which is a 500 year old house . Our rooms look out over the village and to the hills of Tuscany. The decor is absolutely beautiful. Had lunch and took a tour of the town , a break and then off to the square for dinner. Home early because we take the train to Rome at 8:00AM. Day7 Florence This morning we met Francesca, our cooking teacher at the market . She was the same teacher I had for the older girls two years ago. She led the girls through the market purchasing all of the ingredients for the lunch. We walked back to her apartment and after 3/1/2 hours lunch was ready( why I don't cook) and it was delicious.
