Big Sur, it has such a nice ring to it... Following the highway 1 up the coast of California was particularly cool, providing grand vistas of the ocean. A random stop at San Louis Obispo resulted in a small festival, local beer and a cool little town before we hit the highway 1 again for more amazing driving whilst watching the sunset over the Pacific Ocean. Santa Monica - big beaches, a pier with a theme park, people roller blading and people working out - welcome to California...

Vegas baby, but more importantly we would have a bed for 2 nights for the first time since Texas. After relaxing for the most of the afternoon we hit the strip armed with a few beers and just cruised trying to take in all the crazy and weird stuff Vegas has to offer... Another awesome drive through the desert took us to the Grand Canyon just in time to watch the sunset over the canyon whilst having tea. An early start also allowed us to watch the sunrise whilst enjoying breakfast after a short hike around the rim. The drive out of Arizona provided spectacular thunder and lightning storms...

Zion marked the end of our Utah leg and offered up some of the coolest hiking yet, from the insane hike up to Angels landing to wading through the narrows. Utah has been a lot of fun...
