So here we are, at the end of our Oz trip, its official i am depressed!! Its such a sad prospect leaving oz after the last few weeks, of amazingness.
Brisbaine although it was a building site, we had one eventful day and night before we left, meeting up with our Brazillian friends that we gained in Byron Bay. The drinking started at a bar then their absolutely stunning aparatment. We went to some bar place with a dance floor and absolutely amazing music. Proper dance music that we havent heard, and have been craving, for so long! And to cut a long story short we made our friends of the night, 2 cowboys... yes.. cowboys and one surfer dude. The drinks were flowing and fun was being had but the problems started when no where would let us in because we were in FLIP FLOPS!! or in their words "thongs" bloody australia and you cant wear flip flops.
I wont bore you with details of what happened when we eventually got in to places, just the usual.. had we known we needent have booked our night in a hostel that nght.. We didnt get in til 9 am!! haa.
The coach trip to Harvey bay was long and uneventful.. and harvey bay was so booring, and rained... i got eaten to death by bed bugs sand flies and mozzies. You name it i have been bitten by it.
We left promptly the next evening for Airlie beach.... to get on our boat.
All i can say is WOW. The Whitsundays are the most beautiful beautiful islands you will ever go to, and the people on our boat were AMAZING. I have a new love for the dutch, of whom I spent evenings looking up at the clear sky with twinkling stars in it. Sandra and Jo, were travelling after uni and martin was also travelling after uni before he went back to do more studying. We had so many laughs. and its crazy to think how close we were after 2 days!
The captain of the boat, and scuba instructor was so funny, and always drunk so it seemed.
The barrier reef was great too, the most colourful fish you can imagine and great masses of living reef. The scuba diving was uncomfortable, as they only had HUGE scuba packs and i couldnt see a thing!! but it was great all the same. I went down with sarah, sandra and jo the latter two being my dutchyyy girls, who were so funny and sarah a new yorker, who was stunning.
The food was also a highlight. The boat trip was the best thing we have done all holiday, and was so worth while, It was really... amazing!!!
Cairns is fine... nothing special, a bit depressing really because we have to leave so soon, the girls in our dorm are great though and one of the first people we have met travelling that are our age!!
So when i next write on here we will be in singapore, and the adventure starts... again!
p.s. Im moving out here.
