Day Seventy - September 14th, 2013
Alice Springs

We explored the town of Alice today and instantly fell in love with the quirky charm of the place. It's definitely my favourite place in the outback! We spied the 'oldest outfitters in the Centre' and popped in to have a look - neither of us can resist a saddlery. After months of searching, Elly finally found the perfect akubra hat; khaki green with a kangaroo leather band and opal from Cooba Pedy - a real find!
We meandered into the little shops, and finally made it into Coles to stock up. The rest of the day was spent at the campsite, reading by the lovely but freezing pool, and chatting to a little family and their very inquisitive boys! We are looking into some day trips we can do from Alice, and have booked in to stay at the campsite for 3 extra nights. This is my favourite campsite so far - thumbs up!
