So I have had an excellent and mad week in Laos. Met lots of new people who I have spent the week with. We took three days to get to the main town of the north, Luang Prabang and it is well worth a visit, It is quaint and very pretty with a french influence. The boat trip was nice relaxing where I met several new people, a big group of Irish teachers, some welsh lads and a group of english girls two of which live in Dorking mad! On our visit to the town we visted a waterfall where we took a nice refreshing dip swinging in.
After an awful bus trip for 6 hours to Vang Vieng I went tubing with the people I met on the boat. Tubing is basically where you have a rubber ring and float down the river however you visit bars on route! I have had a lively few days in the party town of Vang Vieng, but enjoyed a relaxing day of kayaking with the Irish gang yesterday. After another rickety bus experience with going along dirt tracks for 4 hours, I have arrived in the capital of Laos Vietienne. Not a pretty city but only here till Sunday when I fly to Vietnam (Hanoi) with the Irish, will start my trip with them but they are doing it a little quicker than myself so will hopefully meet others on route. Decided to opt out of a 24 hour bus ride after my last few experiences.
I will keep you updated as much as I can, photos are problem at the moment as it takes ages to upload so will hopefully have time at some point. Will watch the rugby tomorrow the Irish and England match!
Have to go as the internet shop is closing due to the curfew in Laos at 11!
Love you all lots and thanks for the messages xxx
