We arrived in Nha Trang after our overnight sleeper bus which i found amazingly comfortable because i am little like South East Asian people, Michael found it a little more uncomfortabe as he is not. It was literally three rows of bunkbeds down the left of the bus and your feet tucked in to a little cubby underneath the person in front.
We searched around for a decent hotel (the part of travelling i loathe the most). We found a nice place that said they didnt know if there would be a room at 12 bu there might be, at this point its 7am and we are tired so they let us rest on some camp beds in this staff room type thng. There is no room for us but she gets us a place in a one right near the beach for 7 pounds a night. We dropped our stuff and went straight to the beach, there was a place on the beach that had a pool and did amazing food and cocktails so we stayed there til the sun went down.
The next day we went on a boat trip to four islands to do some snorkelling etc. It was a really funny day as we were the only westerners on the trip we got a lot of attention etc. We ate our lunch which was like a big picnic on the roof of the boat, really nice food, especially the beautifully fresh fish. After this they did this random music performance and our guide was singing and dancing and then picked me to come up and dance with him. Then about 10 minutes later Michael was asked to come up and sing a song, he chose Sting - Every breath You Take! Hilarious.....we have a video of both!
That night we had a big night out, went to a few bars and met a few different people it was a fun night. The next day we obviously didnt do much.
The next evening we met up with the irish girls that are doing the same trip as us pretty much and a guy called Ben that Michael had met the night before whilst going out to buy us hangover cures. It was a good night of catching up and we planned to go to the water park the next day.
The water park was on a massive Island called Vin Pearl and was part of some 5* resort thing but you just pay a tenner for a days pass. Funnily enough, out of everywhere we have been on our travels this is where we were served the most dodgy looking chicken of our trip....it had no white bits just grey and brown! ewwwwww! The water park was a really good day out, and nice to do something a bit more normal holiday like!
That night we had another big night out with the girls and Ben....lots of dancing to Michael Jackson etc. And some rather competitive games of connect 4 and Jenga! Another very good night out followed by another day in bed!
We left that evening on another sleeper bus to Saigon. We really enjoyed Nha Trang even though we really didnt do anything at all cultural. It was nice to have a break from that and just have some fun....although I think it has taken its toll as we are both a little run down again now!
