Grey skies greeted Courtney and I as we headed out on the bikes for Courtney's training session. A quick dash up Regent Street to Regents Park got us warmed up before Courtney launched into some time trial work followed by a fairly cruisey ride back to the apartment, ready to join Wendy and Mitchell for the remainder of the day.
Our plans were fairly flexible today as you would expect when on holidays, but we managed to fill the day with a beautiful lunch with Katie (who has really become part of the family after her days as our baby sitter during our stint in London ten years ago) in the Soho district after which we wandered the streets picking up a couple of things from the shops - some shoes for Mitchell and I, a backpack for Courtney and a pair of jeans for me also. Somehow Wendy missed out.
After a nice rest back at the apartment for an hour, we ventured out once again, this time to meet a work colleague of mine Thomas Spitzer from Germany, whom I worked with in my days constructing Westfield London.
To say the dinner with Thomas was exquisite is an understatement. Dining at a Japanese restaurant called Roka, we enjoyed undoubtedly the finest meal we've experienced as a family. The sushi and sashimi to begin with was amazing as were the dumplings, whilst the soft shell crab, crab and rice hot pot, pork back ribs, lamb cutlets and a dessert platter featuring various sorbets, banana ice cream, chocolate mousse and fresh fruit capped off a stunning night.
