Thursday 27th March
On our journey to Cape Town, Daniel saw the Table Mountain in the distance. That was when we knew that we were nearly there. However we arrived a hour early than expected. We knew that our hostel was too far away to walk so we started to look for a taxi but couldn't find one. So we went to the station to ask where we could find one. They didn't seem to know what we wanted. They asked where we were going and told us that it was a long way. We knew that and that was why we asked for a taxi. After enquiring about whereabouts our hostel was, we were finally leaded to the taxi which took us there. We still couldn't work out why they wanted to know whereabouts first as they weren't going to be our taxi driver at all! In this taxi we had, the driver had his son with him so it seems to us that any drivers we had been with like to have their family with them.
Once we arrived, we liked the look of the hostel. It was very homely so far. Unfortunately they couldn't find our booking and we had proof that we did book. Unfortunately for them, the dorms was full but luckily cos we had proof that we booked, they put us in twin room for one night for the price of the dorms. We were so pleased cos it was so lovely and luxurious too! Shame that it was only for one night cos we certainly would love to stay there for the rest of our stay! We were told that we would have to check out and change the room on the next day.
The view in front of our hostel was amazing cos it was Table mountain, just right in front of us! We then enquired about the nearest supermarket and only came across to the store which was like Marks and Spencer. We knew that it would going to be expensive, comparing to the big normal supermarket so we only purchased food that we were going to use on the day. Hoping to find another supermarket tomorrow, we would do a proper food shopping for the rest of the stay at the cheap prices.
we cooked our tea and came across to meet the hostel's cat and dog which were cute. We relaxed in the room before going on the internet for a brief time. Our tiredness took over and we had an early night to catch up our sleep that we were unable to get on the coach.
Our plan for tomorrow was to browse around Cape Town, decide what we want to do for the rest of the stay.
