The photo represents the sad truth about day 1 of our big adventure. We are actually at Heathrow. Yes, a slight change to our itinerary, but who would not take the jet set amusement park of T3 one day and then T4 the next day instead of Kenya given a choice? Although, let's be honest, we weren't given a choice. When the boarding gate monitor shows cancelled, you know it's pretty much decided for you. Seems Virgin not so keen on flying to Kenya with all the trouble there at the moment.

So here we are, day 2 of our big adventure and still at Heathrow!! Due to fly through the day today and get into Nairobi tonight. Sean is making a million phone calls to try to move our onward flight to Tanzania, find us a hotel in Nairobi for the night and see if we can push our climb start date out a day later as we have now lost one of our acclimatisation nights (having 2 nights to acclimatise in Kilimanjaro should help your chances of summiting).

So does this just prove that Monday mornings are always yukky? I am not sure yet, maybe I will turn this into an experiment while we are away.....

Next time you hear from us will most likely be post climb, so think of us over the next week, enjoy your nice hot baths and non achey legs (except for you crazy athletes)!!
