God is taking such good care of us! We think we have a plan, then it doesn't quite work out, and "poof" something better comes up! (Well, maybe not in such a 'poof' kind of way, but how else do you explain God?)
We were at the Grand Canyon on Friday the 13th! It was a great day. No one made me hike anywhere off a cliff, down a canyon, or even off the path... we just looked from the top at the splendour and wonder of such an indescribable place. As Theodore Roosevelt said of the Grand Canyon, "Leave it as it is. You cannot improve it. The ages have been at work on it, and man can only mar it. What you can do is keep it for your children, your children's children, and for all who come after you, as one of the great sights which every American if he can travel at all should see."
We were headed to Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico, but the weather turned a wee bit too chilly (everything is relative!). So we headed south to Phoenix, thinking we really should be going east by now, which is also a relative thought, as we have nowhere to go by any particular time anyway! So here we are in Phoenix and we call up friends from Fort. St. John who are cowboy snowbirds... Well, we have been popping in on Kim and Kathy Donally for coffee for years back home, so immediately the kids were out in the corrals grooming horses and practicing roping. It's a great spot to stay for a while as we have some Canadian business to take care of and the kids can be useful and totally occupied while we do.
Then another poof-surprise came as Tim was having his Canadian cell phone turned off. One last text came through from Nolen and Sherry Johnson (Tim's cousin from home) saying they were in Phoenix for the winter ... where were we? Isn't that just like God? Of all the places in the United States that we could have been, and here we are! So as I write, we are headed to their place for supper... mmmm God is good.

Suzanne Motola Hey, how special to see such a wonder of creation. Aaron (our son) did a rafting week down the river but said when he first saw the Canyon that it brought tears to his eyes it was so beautiful. So good to see you enjoying Life. Blessings
