Took the Inca Express being a guided coach tour between Puno and Cusco as it stopped every 2 hours to look at Inca ruins along the way. A nice way to break up what is a 7/8 hour trip whether you go by coach or train.
I was the only english speaking person on the coach, if you count Devonian as an english dialect. So, I got a personal explaination of each place.
Got to Cusco on 7th November and checked into a decent hotel for a change. This place is really busy and heaving with tourists and backpackers as its the only gateway to the Inca sacred valley and Maccu Piccu.
On the 8th was planning to go and see some close by Inca ruins, but there has been a Teachers national strike. This resulted in all the goverment officials including the police and all taxi and bus drivers stopping work too. The oads of Cusco were filled with protestors, flag waving, etc etc, quite interested to see, but messed my plans up. So today has been a chill out day and yes you might have guessed it catching up with the blog. God it takes hours to load photos onto the site, think the internet cafe PCs are powered by guinea pigs, and then where they get knackered - they eat them!
Sorry to all if you have been getting loads of e-mails saying I have updated my site, but had to do it across 4 different internet cafes as i kept crashing the PCs. The IT guys in Abbey would say nothing has changed there then!
