Hi Everyone,

Drove this mornign from Queenstown to Mount Cook - highest mountain in New Zealand.

The lake by the mountian, is so blue you cant believe it until you see it with your own eyes! I took several pictures but I am sure they wont show the true blue olour. Thinks its because the lake gets glacier water into it and its full of certain minerals or something.

Gettign to Mount Cook, Ichecked into the YHA as its the onyl real accomodation for the night other than a place called "the hermitage" which is like silly money!

Then off for a hike upt he mountain as far as I could get. Well it was a 2.5 hour hike, each way! Got up to a place called "Hooker Lake" but couldnt find any!!!!! well the lake was there but where were the H******??? It was at 900m so not too high. The lake was close tot he Glacier front and had huge chunks of ice floating in it, but it was still surprisingly warm.

Walked back at a steady pace, and then spend a few hour in a sauna trying to recovery my legs from the last 2 days walkign activities and knowing that I still had a few days to come with more heathly type stuff.

in order to combat getting too healthy, met up with some guys int he YHA and we went out for a total pub crawl in Mount Cook. Bearing in mind there are only 2 pubs it wasnt that demanding on the legs, but more on the stomach and drinking skills. Hangover time tommorrow!!!
