Sarah Well, Im back in sydney (again) waiting for my flight home tommorow. its been a hellovasession!!!!, Ive just come back from the Red (but surprisingly green centre) it was amazing and ive got not doubt in my mind i will be boring you all with it for a very. long. time. On Monday I got picked up from my hostel at 6: 40 AM, and we made our way to Rainbow valley we stopped off at a place called Jim's place home to world famous Dinky the singing Dingo. what a highlight! We had a small walk at rainbow valley and went to mushroom rock (ironically enough shaped like a mushroom) and got to know the rest of group. then we headed for Kings Creek Station where we were staying overnight in swags. at the risk of nasty Aussie things crawling in our ears and laying eggs. In the evening we all went out to the road to watch sunset, not one car came past the whole time we were out there (quite lucky really!!) On Tuesday we got up at 4 o clock A.M. (and there was me thinking this time of morning was made up!!) and headed towards Kings Canyon. It was a 6.5K walk. starting with a lovely place called heart attack hill. (Just a joke i thought) Just as i dropped to my knees and began crawling I reached the top. Of the first section (we were told that when we got to the top of it). I started to climb again and just as the vultures started to circle and peck at my head I made it to the top. to the cries of " well done only one more section of this bit to go" To be honest the last bit of heart attack hill wasn't that bad so we finished that quite quickly. In all seriousness Kings Canyon is an amazing place the views are some of the best i have ever seen. The tour guide Phil was brillaint as well, it was his father and grandfather who made the first road to Kings Canyon and ran tours to it (there is a hill dedicated to his grandfather. They were also the first family to have a guest house at Uluru.) We went to cotterill lookout (Phils grandfathers lookout) and we laid on out stomaches and crawled over to the edge of the cliff to have a look. then we made our way to the Garden of Eden which was beautifull. we couldn't go for a swim due to the water being to cold. we got back and it was only about 10 o clock. amazing. Then we headed to Uluru we stopped for a view of one of the biggest tabletop mountain in the world. The first view of Uluru was wicked, everyone was quite excited (I was anyway!!) and we had a bisk 1.5k walk around some of the caves. That night we set up out swags in Yulara, most people went to a lookout to see sunset but a few of us decided having a few beers and cooling down was better. We ended up going to bed at 12. Then We were up again at 4.30 A.M. (which was for the best i'll explain later) and we went to Uluru. I decided not to climb it as i didn't want to fall off and die so I went for the base walk which was still cool. (8k) BY now the temp was on the climb. We went straight to the valley of the winds (The Olgas) I got down to the bottom of the valley and decided to go back with a couple of others as we all felt ill. we got back to the camp and had a spot of lunch, finding out the temp was 41oC in the shade. (There was no shade in the valley) The valley actally got shut down when the others came back because of extreme weather condtions!!! After luch we went to the shops, a few of us met upo in the oub (strangly enough it was just the english!!) where we stayed until it was time to go and watch the sunset over Uluru. This turned into one of the best nights. we were all sitting there (about 20 of us) watching the sunset with a beer, we went back to camp for a BBQ and carried on with the beers, one by one everyone went to bed apart from (have you guessed???) the english!! and Phil the tour guide and a latin American guy who was just supposed to be getting water for his girlfriend!! There was lots of bugs and I held a few, Phil the tour guide out some in his mouth. He went to bed about one, we carried on learning card tricks and picking up bugs (I was soooo brave) and before we knew it it was 3 and we had to be up in 2 hours to leave, so we reclutently went to bed after a breif discussion of not bothering. At 530 we got woken up I had a cup of tea chucked my stuff away then settled for a snooze in the van. We got bcak to our hostels around 12 and i slept though to 1730 . As we were meeting some of the group at 6 down the pub I got up (I really would of been happy to stay in bed!!) the a few of us who were in the same hostel headed for Bojangles to meet with some more of the tour group. We had a really lovely meal and a very good night. We all sang on the radio ( it broadcast to the whole of Aus!!) and had a good dance before being turfed out because they wanted to close! Then the next thing you know Im back on the plane to sydney. (The strange thing being there was nine of us from the Uluru tour on the same flight.) Louisa Hey!!!!!! How are ya?! Hope you had a great christmas and new year! Mine was average... as expected really! But still made the most of it and got REALLY REALLY drunk. Wasn't really looking forward to the start of the new year coz it always seems so dull.... until I decided I'm gonna go back to America, FOR A MONTH! YAYYY!! Will be flying out on 28th Jan and be back on 1st March. You'll have to remind me what date you are back so we can catch up... its been pretty dull without having someone to whinge to about others annoying ways!!!! haha!! Anyway, best be off but hope to hear from you soon! Lou :)

Adrian Hey Sis, thanks very much for the pressies, the dige is excellent (the dogs aren't too keen though) and i have en't had a chance to through the boomerang yet but i'm sure it'll come back! I'm really glad it was bad weather on christmas day for you, it was really nice here, great to see everyone and all of the dogs, (5 dogs in the house was fun!) Obviously didn't want to speak to you on xmas morn as you rang at a stupid time of the morning but it was good to speak to you when you rang later, sounds like you are still enjoying your lazy life...wait till you have to get a job....he he! Aunty Louise, John, Katie, Tom, Ria and Dee Hi Sarah, sorry I didn't get to post a message before christmas. Also sorry we didn't talk to you on Christmas morning - bit early for us. Have spent a really good christmas with your mum and dad - granny and grandad and Adrian. Have just nipped back to essex to pick up johns daughters ria and dee and are going back this afternoon. Katie and Tom should be there by then as well. Sarah Well Im still in Bondi doing the usual lazing on the beach, going out dancing a bit of shopping. Well you'll all be pleased to know that the weather on Christmas day was awful. When I was sitting outside eating my Turkey I actually got cold!!!! but then I went to Bondi beach to listen to Judge Jule et al and I warmed up a bit . We ended the day having a bit of a party back at the flat where the music may of been a bit too loud, (Personally I think the police wanted to come in and have a couple!!!) Anyway I hope you all had a wicked day and santa brought you everything you wanted Happy New Year Lots of Love Sarah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

John Coggon Hello, Sarah. How's it going? It's your pseudo-brother here. I hope you're having fun in Australia. Is it true that you all eat kangaroo poo over there? That's what I heard. If you bump into Sindi off Neighbours can you give her my phone number. She is so fit. Since you left England, global warming has really kicked in. It's about 35 degrees here every day, and it's not rained for four months now. Christmas dinner on the beach this year, I reckon. The government has introduced a five day week-end as well, to soften the blow of the impending pensions crisis, so everybody is as happy as Larry. We're all getting a bit bored of chocolate now that it's being given away for free on every street corner. So things are pretty humdrum really. I hope you have a lovely Christmas, Miss F. Take care. Lavinia Hi Sarah, So pleased you are having fun and I bet you have not once thought of us back home working soooooo very hard it has been very busy lately, everybody calling in before going christmas shopping and then again on there return. Aunty Louse and gang Hi Sarar, Thought I'd update you. Went to your mum & dads at the weekend to see if the dogs got on. In a word NO. Hooch was really annoying and kept pushing his luck. Charlie and Syd just kept out of the way. I'd like to get Barley and Rye up here to see how they would all be. We went for a great long walk - ask your mum you tell you the story of Syd and the sheep!!!! We also watched the DVD of the sky dive - it looked brilliant. Glad all is going well.
