Arrived at Saigon after 2 boats a minibus and a VIP bus and 14 hrs later.Found the hotel even though it's under a different name ( usual in vietnam ). Hotel is real nice with free breakfast and free laundry , staff can't do enough for you all for £7-50 a night each. What we didn't realise is its Chinese new year so place is heaving . Were in district 1 and it has a huge strip of bars on the street, with little very cheap and fantastic food places in all the alleyways . We've booked to go to muni ne ( beach resort) but cuz of new year can't find hotel lol . Never mind another few beers and I won't care lol. It's so modern and clean here with tonnes of designer shops , nothing like the vietnam I was expecting . The food is real fresh and you can have anything from fresh noodle pork salad to fish heads . There's stalls with live fish , lobster, eels the lot !!! The people are so much friendlier than the Cambodians .All in all Saigon is a very up beat happening city thats modern and caters for everyone( even if the bars are like Spain). It never seems to sleep as the bars seem to be open around the clock.Apart from museums there isn't that much to do in Saigon apart from drink and eat. It's true what they say about vietnam the smaller your chair the cheaper your beer .A comfy seat with a beer will cost you 40,000 dong yet next door where the chairs are like a dolls hose the same beer and food will be half the price .
