So hightailing out of PP, i made my way by bus to the south coast of Cambodia and thankfully a charming little town called Sihanoukville.
Ok, its not Laos and probably a poorer Vietnam, but the sun is shining and the beach has a sea. I have the knack of ignoring the kids on the beach, so i am really enjoying this resort. My guesthouse has bungalows similar to the Matlang resort i know and love in Samui. Although it has terrible music taste in the bar, its a good backpacker joint and close to the beach.
Sea is fairly cool and the tan is coming along fine after being washed away in Laos so i am very happy here and plan to stay a few days, before heading off to the secluded Bamboo Island then Kampot for the worlds finest black pepper!!
Oh and the Ipod has new songs thanks to a cool shop called Boom Boom Room!
The kids on the beach inform me that the price of fuel is affecting their material costs meaning that we have to pay more for the tat they force us to buy!! That made me chuckle...
Sihanoukville has restored my faith in Cambodia, yeah its a bit grotty (they chuck their rubbish in the sea) so the beach can be like British ones, but the people are very friendly.....you just have to ignore the tuk tuk and moto drivers..... food is lovely, tonight i have been to a Khmer/Japanese tepanyaki fusion restaurant where they cook the food on a hot plate in front of you. Yum, great stuff, i am gonna see if we have one in London....
Anyway, im heading back to PP, bracing myself for what it can throw at me next....
