Hello!

We arrived in Muscat, Oman yesterday (15th sept) at 9am local time (5am in England!). The flight was good and the airport was extremely efficient. We got to our hotel in Muscat at about 10.30 and we were upgraded to a junior suite for no extra cost! The room is amazing. We have our own living room/dinning room, kitchen, bathroom and two balconies. We were very tired but headed straight for the beach. It was completely deserted. There is miles of beautiful sand which is too hot to stand on bare foot most of the day. The sea is very clear and boiling hot (the swimming pool in the hotel is hotter than a bath!) It is incredibly hot and humid. It was about 38 degrees yesterday and today, even in the shade. Tomorrow we are hoping to go to old Muscat and visit the Souk (market) in the morning before it gets too hot and maybe book a scuba dive for the afternoon or Sunday. Thursdays and Fridays are the weekend in Oman and Friday is their holy day, so we spent a day reading by the pool and on the beach as not much was open.
