Travels through Tartary
I arrived in Hong Kong on 11 July. We couvered the last bit from Yangshuo to Hong Kong by express coach and train as the truck broke down 15 minutes outside Yanshuo. There is a certain symmetry - we lost a starter motor on Day 2 and a compressor on the penultimate day.
I am now enjoying the comforts of Hong Kong. Re-visiting old haunts and eating. There's been lots of eating. My official end of tour weight was 11 kg down from what it was at the start back in March. I think that I'll patent my weight loss method - it involves eating five portions of mutton a day (rat or dog may be used instead) and then sitting in a truck watching the world go by.
I'll be back in the UK on 15 July and can't wait for a steak and ale pie in the Horse and Groom.
