Hi folks!! So, I'm in Singapore and have been since late Friday evening. Plane was late taking off at Heathrow, so instead of arriving at 6:30pm in Singapore, I arrived at 8:30pm!! Something to do with the plane needing de-icing apparently....though they said that only takes about 5 minutes so why we were waiting 2 hours is anybody's guess!

I haven't found Sinpapore to be that exciting unfortunately, though I guess that jet lag has been sapping my energy as well. I wasn't good for anything (not even unpacking) by the time I got to my hotel on Friday night. Saturday I went out for a wander around the city centre, and then had to come back to the hotel for a shower and a sleep as I was sooooo hot and tired!! I ended up sleeping for 5 hours....damn time zone crossing!!

After I had woken myself up, I decided to head off to the Night Safari as it sounded interesting. It was in one way, but also kind of wrong on a whole other level. The animals just looked bored as they just seemed completely listless. They might behave exactly in that way in the wild for all I know, but I have a sneaking suspicion that they don't....it was also kind of freaky wandering around in semi-jungle at 9 in the evening and hoping I wouldn't be the first person to get leapt on by some hyena or something that seemed scarily close to the boundary!!

Today, I have come to Sentosa Island and am just in a little cafe as I type. Eating some potato wedges (why did I order hot food?) and drinking a much nicer version of a Slush Puppie, but pretty much the same thing. I think I'll hang out on the Island for a few hours (it's very pretty), and then I can head back via the cable car and crash out back at my hotel!! (Am still not used toair conditioning though....).

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with myself tomorrow but I think I'll have another look around the city centre, and perhaps go to the Marina. Off to Darwin on Monday evening, so that should be interesting. Even hotter than here, though I am booked into a nice city centre hotel that has 2 salt water swimming pools! Sorry, should I stop saying things like that? You can all slap me when I get back....not all at once though, please form an orderly queue!!
