Georgia is amazing! As a country the size of Ireland, the diversity of the landscape and the things to see are incredible! So far we have dined on the Black Sea, cooled our feet in the gorge at Martvili, driven passed raging torrents on precarious ledges and walked up to the tongue of a glacier! Drove for a couple a days just along the main road, but seeing as its along the Black Sea, not too terrible! We arrived at the border crossing at Hopa/Batumi at 2pm, quite suddenly and by suprise - the border is at the end of a tunnel! We joined the queue and after 2 hours had crossed into Georgia. Here in Kilyos still, waiting for a camera Fintan ordered. Finally we find out the paperwork to fill in, although its all in Turkish Fintan has a good guess at the questions, and so it should be arriving in a couple of days... In the meantime we said farewell to our Danish friends - who are now taunting us by being several days ahead of us on the road to Georgia! Into the big city today! We left the car in the camp site and went to get the bus with our camping neighbours, 4 Danish guys driving around the Black Sea in a beat up old VW Caravelle... they bought it for 900 Euro and have broken down every day. So off we go, none of us speaking any Turkish. We came up to the bus stop just as 2 buses were there and a very nice girl told us that we could not get on without a ticket, but there is nowhere in Kilyos to buy tickets.....

After a strange hotel in Plovdiv where Fintan had "chicken" for dinner, we decided to go back to camping if possible! Getting out of Plovdiv was easy enough, but we only got on the old main road - speed limit 60kmph. Not that anyone remotely adheres to the speed limit! Fintan even made me turn around to take a photo with an old jet... enjoy it. At the border there were no real problems - the duty free was good, the customs officials and police were more intrigue...
