After a couple of cancellations, we're returning to Bucharest for a quick mileage-run weekend.

After a rather bad El Al flight, I got a chance to sit in the cockpit (after landing, of course), and then we headed home sweet home. That was our short trip to Bucharest. See you next time. :)

After an ok breakfast, we rested for a while and headed to the AFI mall for some shopping. Upon returning, we visited a small church and headed up to the lounge. We were given an extended checkout time of 9PM, so that we could stay at the hotel comfortably before heading to the airport. We took a taxi to the airport (crazy driver, who tried to con us) and got on the flight on time, after a short stay at the dreadful Tarom business lounge.

After a 3-hour delay (thanks for nothing, El Al!), we landed in Bucharest and headed to the hotel. Two of the upgraded room we got were stinking from cigarettes, so we were moved to a third room, which was lovely (though smaller than the previous ones). We lounged for a while and then headed for a stroll - to the opera house, some parks and the beautiful botanical gardens. We returned to the hotel for some rest, lounge time and headed to Carrefour for some shoppi...

Today I manage to re-book our tickets to an earlier flight (better airplane, more time at the destination). Since I've booked the tickets under class Z, there are no penalties for this change. Yay! :)
