Monday the 28th of Dec - Fremantle

I walked from the hostel in East Perth to an area of Perth called Northbridge in the Northern part of Perth but it was so very hot that I wanted to take the bus back to the city centre and walk from there to my hostel. At the bus stop in Northbridge I got talking to a German girl, Sophia, who was staying with a couple in an apartment not far from the bus stop. She was renting a room via the website 'Airbnb'. She explained how the website worked and that she had been using this website in most of her travels.

Sophia was also going to the city but was looking for the train station to go Fremantle and asked me if I wanted to join her if I didn't have any specific plans for the day. And so I did, since I wasn't going to find any post offices or banks that were open. Might as well spent the day having fun and getting to know a fellow backpacker, even though I didn't have that much cash left :-)

We took the train to Fremantle around 11 am and ended up spending the entire day in Fremantle enjoying the local Fremantle markets where we ate some cheap lunch, walked around the area taking in the sights, had dinner and ciders at a nearby beach restaurant and saw the beautiful sunset before taking the train back to Perth at approx. 8:30 pm. We exchanged Facebook details and promised to stay in contact during our travels.
